This beginner-level course introduces learners to SharePoint Online as a secure platform for storing, managing, and sharing information within a Microsoft 365 environment. It builds confidence in safe digital collaboration, effective file management, and responsible online communication, helping individuals improve day-to-day workplace productivity. Learners will gain essential skills in navigating document libraries, using version control, managing permissions, and sharing information securely. They will also be introduced to AI-assisted tools such as Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT, learning how these can support reflective practice and problem-solving. An optional contextualised AI support element allows learners to apply their new SharePoint skills to real or simulated workplace tasks, using AI tools safely to identify workflow improvements and enhance confidence in digital collaboration. Delivered through tutor-led, hands-on learning (4 hours with an optional 1–2 hour extension activity). The course supports safe, inclusive, and efficient workplace communication for those new to digital system. Improved digital safety awareness and compliance with organisational data protocols. Optional AI contextualisation supporting workflow reflection and digital improvement. Learners will: Understand the purpose and structure of SharePoint as a collaborative digital workspace. Navigate sites, folders, and document libraries confidently. Upload, rename, and manage files using clear naming conventions and version control. Apply safe sharing practices using appropriate permissions and access settings. Communicate effectively through written and digital collaboration tools within Microsoft 365. Use Lists and filters to locate and manage information efficiently. Apply principles of data safety, online professionalism, and responsible digital use. Explore how AI tools (Copilot or ChatGPT) can support reflection, communication, and safe productivity in workplace contexts. Learning activities include live demonstrations, practical exercises, discussion, and optional AI-guided reflection tasks.

This course is suitable for business users, administrators, or adult learners seeking to build confidence in using digital collaboration tools. Learners must have access to: A Microsoft 365 environment with SharePoint Online access (institutional or licensed personal account). Internet connectivity to access cloud-based collaboration and optional AI activities. Devices that meet workplace digital safety standards (e.g., password-protected laptops or tablets). All learning activities use sample or anonymised files to ensure GDPR compliance and responsible AI practice.
