Skill Overview

The Cyber Security Risk Analyst apprenticeship builds and apply an understanding of cyber security to protect your organisation, systems, information, personal data and people from attacks and unauthorised access.   Apprentices will learn to use Project Ares, Python, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft PowerShell, Linux and AWS.  Module 1: Introduction to Cyber Security  Module 2: Networking Fundamentals  Module 3: Operating Systems  Module 4: Security Foundations  Module 5: Security Management Module 6: Information Security  Module 7: Security Risk Manager Module 8: Programming and Scripting  Module 9: Threat Analysis

Learning Objectives

An understanding of the world of Cyber Security & IT, with a focus on ITIL and High-Level Introduction to Cyber Security. Learners will get a hands-on experience with networking covering both on premise and cloud networking infrastructures. A focus on the Linux operating system. A focus on building Cyber Security skills, giving a strong base of security knowledge and common security tooling. A focus on how cyber security is viewed from a business angle, discussing relevant security frameworks such as ISO and NIST. A focus on how to manage information security, information assurance or information riskbased processes. A focus on the fundamentals of risk assessment, risk management and security cases, as well as the basics of cloud technologies. A focus on useful programming and scripting languages. A focus on threat intelligence and malware, and how these threats can be found and eradicated.

Funding Eligibility

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively, the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.
