Welcome to the Halo Staffing Care Workforce Pathway eLearning course on Reducing the likelihood of abuse. We will begin this course by establishing the basics of this subject. Having done that, we will focus on the principles involved in safeguarding adults. The next section will inform you how to reduce the likelihood of abuse. List of relevant legislations in the UK will be presented next. This will then be followed by a section which will focus on the effective ways of responding to suspected or disclosed abuse. The next section will be about protecting people from harm and abuse – locally and nationally. At this point we will inform you about the restrictive practices. Safeguarding children from abuse and neglect will be the theme of the next section. The following section will inform you how you can demonstrate dignity and respect while providing health and care services. We conclude the course with a list of responsibilities which you have to observe, how and where to seek more information and advice about preventing and protecting individuals from harm and abuse.
