Skill Overview

Each year the correct use of fire extinguishers saves UK businesses millions, preserves lives and prevents injury. Small fires can spread rapidly and trained staff can help to prevent the escalation of minor fires. Our experienced trainers use the latest fire training equipment to demonstrate the safe use of fire extinguishers. Learners are given the opportunity to use the extinguishers. Who needs this qualification? This course is suitable for those employees who may need to use a fire extinguisher in an emergency. By law, the responsible person must carry out a fire risk assessment for the business premises. It is up to the responsible person to ensure fire extinguishers are easily accessible and that a sufficient number of people are trained to use them. Why is this training important? Fire Extinguisher training is important for several critical reasons, all of which contribute to fire safety, emergency preparedness, and the protection of lives and property. It equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to respond promptly and effectively to small fires. This can help prevent fires from spreading and becoming more dangerous, potentially saving lives and reducing property damage.
