This course develops the English and Digital Skills essential for confident and effective supervision within the passive fire protection industry. Learners will strengthen their ability to communicate clearly, complete and interpret workplace documentation, and use digital tools for planning, reporting, and team coordination. Through contextualised learning, they will apply these skills to the supervision of passive fire installation and inspection activities, building competence in leadership, safety management, and task organisation. The programme blends theory and practical application, using real-world scenarios that reflect modern site supervision. By the end of the course, learners will have the skills and confidence to lead teams, manage information digitally, and uphold the safety, quality, and compliance standards expected in passive fire supervision. This course focuses on developing core English and Digital Skills required for effective supervision in the passive fire protection industry. Learners will: Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, within a supervisory context Read, interpret, and respond to workplace documentation, including reports, schedules, and safety information Produce clear, structured written records such as task plans, inspection logs, and digital reports Use digital tools and platforms to plan, record, and monitor team activities securely and efficiently Apply data protection and online safety principles in managing supervisory information Demonstrate leadership and organisational awareness through practical, scenario-based learning All Functional Skills are delivered through realistic passive fire supervision activities, ensuring learners strengthen communication and digital competence while building confidence in managing people, safety, and compliance on site.

This course is part of our Skills Development Service. To be eligible for this training, you must be: • 19 years old or over • Employed, volunteering or an unpaid worker. • Have the right to live and work in the UK. • You must not already have achieved a level 2 qualification, in this subject, in the last 3 years. This support is available for those living in Greater Manchester or one of the neighbouring areas. These include parts of Lancashire, Derbyshire, Merseyside, West Yorkshire, and Cheshire – your eligibility will be checked by one of our Skills Coaches.
