How Ginger Nut Deliver Our training delivery is based on a blended model of one-to-one sessions every 4 weeks, with group sessions, webinars, online courses, video, and additional support as required. This means that our learners have the guidance they need as well as the flexibility to learn around the requirements of their jobs. We find that this approach reduces disruption for the learners and their line managers giving everyone the best chance of benefitting from the training and completing the course. Delivery of the standard is based around competency and knowledge units, consisting of introduction, training, personal study and observation. To support learning, we utilise Highfield Workbooks and Smart Screen, which are online resources mapped to the apprenticeship. All learners are given access to LinkedIn Learning, including bespoke channels designed to support their apprenticeship and Perlego, which includes full searchable access to hundreds of thousands of textbooks to support study. The standard is divided into core knowledge modules which are as follows: The Organisation – Understanding the organisational purpose, activities, aims, values, vision for the future Value of your skills – Understanding the organisational structure and how you fit and development of your skills Stakeholders – Managing stakeholders/ internal and external customers, clients and/or suppliers Relevant Regulation – Understanding laws and regulations relating to role including data protection, health and safety, compliance etc… Policies – Reviewing organisational internal policies and key business policies relating to the sector Processes – How to make payments, processing customer data and improving business processes Business Fundamentals – Project management Business Fundamentals – Understanding business principles such as managing change, business finances and project management External Environmental Factors – Understanding market forces, policy and regulatory changes and supply chains Once these are completed then focus moves to planning and delivery of the End Point Assessment project. Project Activity and Portfolio Building Each module covers aspects of knowledge, skills and behaviours and helps the learner build the experience and portfolio they need to successfully complete their apprenticeship. From month 9 of the apprenticeship, all learners will need to complete a project. This will be a genuine work-based project or process improvement. The criteria for the project includes: A project or process improvement should account for 21-35 working hours, over the apprenticeship, to adequately apply themselves Must be work-based – incorporating scoping, planning, managing, communicating to stakeholders, monitoring, and reporting results The apprentice choosing the project/process improvement with the guidance of the employer and training provider Gateway and End Point Assessment Before gateway the collected documents are combined to create the learners’ portfolios. This approach means that learners and tutors ensure that all knowledge, skills and behaviours required are fully tracked throughout the apprenticeship with learners having a clear understanding of their growth in knowledge and related progress. The End Point Assessment consists of a knowledge exam, a portfolio-based interview and a project presentation based on their portfolio.
