Skill Overview

To raise awareness of mental health issues in construction, promote wellbeing strategies, and improve communication around mental health.

The course is delivered over 4 hours in a block session, and can be run either at our premises or on site with the employer as either an am or pm session.

By building confidence in writing and comprehension skills, to support discussions surrounding mental health in construction, this support will provide learners with the ability to have constructive, effective discussions with staff surrounding mental health concerns.  

Through the delivery of the relevant English modules linked to the underpinning mental health in construction knowledge, the employer will benefit from the learner being able to undertake effective discussions surrounding mental health in the construction sector with colleagues, to signpost for relevant support to assist with their individual needs.

By developing English skills through this course, this will help learners in the facilitation of a mental health discussion, this will also support provide underpinning knowledge that can be applied in other aspects of line management, which will support learners progression.

Module 4 - Work in pairs to design a simple wellbeing plan

This course is part of our Skills Development Service.

To be eligible for this training, you must be:

•	19 years old or over 
•	Employed, volunteering or an unpaid worker.
•	Have the right to live and work in the UK. 
•	You must not already have achieved a level 2 qualification, in this subject, in the last 3 years.

This support is available for those living in Greater Manchester or one of the neighbouring areas. These include parts of Lancashire, Derbyshire, Merseyside, West Yorkshire, and Cheshire – your eligibility will be checked by one of our Skills Coaches.
