Most organisations recognise the importance that a consistent recruitment and selection procedure plays in the success of their business. This highly participative workshop will equip those responsible for recruiting new staff with the knowledge and skills needed to ensure that the right people are selected to help your organisation meet its goals. The course is ideally suited to specific target groups of up to six delegates. Course Content: Key aims of effective recruitment and selection The Recruitment process and the importance of getting it right Stage 1: Pre-interview preparation Preparing a competency based job and person specification Planning the interview Stage 2: The competency based interview: structure, purpose, communication process, questioning, listening, getting the candidate to talk, note-taking Stage 3: Post-interview activities: scoring systems, notifying results, candidate feedback Interview practice & action planning Price quoted is per person.

This course will enable participants to: - Understand the key aims of effective recruitment and selection - Follow the organisation’s Recruitment and Selection Process - Understand the roles and responsibilities of a panel member, operating within the organisation's Recruitment and Selection policies and procedures, and current Legislation requirements - Draw up a personnel profile/job specification based on the organisation’s competency based framework - Prepare, structure & conduct an effective recruitment interview - Identify and demonstrate relevant questioning techniques used in a panel interview - Investigate the various methods used by panel members when assessing candidate’s performance at interview
