The APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) is aimed at experienced project, programme, or portfolio managers who are looking to benchmark their skills. You should have already completed the APM Project Management Qualification (or equivalent) and may be working towards becoming a Chartered Project Professional (ChPP).

The PPQ will enable you to gain an advanced understanding of how to be a project leader, including effective governance and oversight, as well as successful planning, control, and management. The qualification is a recognised assessment route for Chartered Project Professional (ChPP).

Learning Objectives

The Project Professional Qualification will cover a variety of advanced topics, including:

How to provide visionary leadership for a project
How to develop and implement an integrated plan to support the project
How to maintain an engaged and constructive team
How to communicate and negotiate effectively with stakeholders
How to resolve problems and manage deviations from a project plan
How to respond to risks to minimise threats and increase opportunities
How to oversee project costs within agreed budgets
How to manage change control processes and protocols
How to deliver the intended benefits of a project
The APM PPQ assessment is based on a pre-seen case study which is divided into 3 parts:

A scenario assessment
An oral assessment
A written report
In total, the assessment lasts 2 hours and 35 minutes. All 3 parts are assessed online over the same day. The scenario and oral elements are assessed using video conferencing and the project report is completed as an online written assessment.

The PPQ is designed for senior project professionals. Ideally, you should have the following:

Managerial experience in a project environment (i.e., as a project manager or managing a key component of a large project)
The APM PMQ or equivalent qualification
