'Don't be a Dummy, learn First Aid' is an online first aid awareness course that is essential for everyone, whether in the workplace at home or out and about. Accidents do happen and people can become unwell at any time. This is a straightforward course to empower you to provide help to someone that needs it. You will gain a basic understanding to act in various potentially life-threatening situations.  This is a fully online course and assessment, to be completed on your device, at your convenience with no time limits  This a great choice for refresher and awareness training, and where in-person training isn't possible however, you don't need any previous knowledge or qualifications, we'll cover all the basic first aid techniques for you throughout the training. Recommended age 14+.

Learning Objectives

You will be guided throughout by our experts to recognise emergency situations and provide the appropriate treatment. After each chapter there will be a quick knowledge check to consolidate your learning and prepare you for the test at the end. The course is an engaging mix of high-quality videos and easy to digest written instructions.  The duties of a first aider Managing the incident Infection control Primary survey Recovery position Basic life support - CPR COVID-19 updates Choking Shock Recognition and control of bleeding Treatment of burns and scalds After the incident Course duration The course takes between 2-3 hours at your convenience and depending on your previous knowledge and learning styles.  To ensure all learners are reached, we use a variety of training methods throughout the course and end each chapter with a quick knowledge check. To successfully complete the course, you would be expected to score 80% or above on the final knowledge check. On completion, the certificate is emailed to you the next working day.
