The Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management is designed for people working in the construction sector, this course gives candidates the confidence to carry out a wide range of management responsibilities effectively. It provides them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and competence to work in construction site management. Candidates who complete the NVQ Level 6 Construction Site Management will then be able to apply for a Black CSCS Manager Card. The Black CSCS card is proof is for employers that you have the necessary skills, knowledge and competence at nationally recognised standards to work in construction site management.

While there are certain mandatory units that every applicant must take to achieve their Level 6 NVQ Construction Management qualification, there are additional optional units that allow you to tailor the course to the areas you’re interested in. Because of the wide range of tasks that take place on construction sites, it is not expected that those who have supervisory responsibilities will all do the same activities. The qualification is structured to ensure that there is a high degree of flexibility within the units available. The mandatory units of this construction NVQ Level 6 course include: Pathway 1-Building and Civil Engineering-Pathway Mandatory Units Mandatory Units Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace Allocating Work and Checking People’s Performance in the Workplace Establishing, Implementing and Maintaining Systems for Managing Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace Contributing to the identification of a work team in the workplace Establishing, implementing and maintaining organisational systems for managing health, safety, welfare and wellbeing in the workplace Establishing, controlling and monitoring environmental factors and sustainability in the workplace. Evaluating and confirming work methods in the workplace Planning the preparation of the site for the project in the workplace Monitoring project activities in the workplace Ensuring that work activities and resources meet project work requirements in the workplace Identifying, allocating and planning the deployment and use of plant, equipment or machinery in the workplace Organising, controlling and monitoring supplies of materials in the workplace Identifying and maintaining communication systems and organisational procedures in the workplace Controlling project progress against agreed quality standards in the workplace Establishing dimensional control criteria in the workplace Controlling project progress against agreed programmes in the workplace Controlling project quantities and costs in the workplace Evaluating feedback and making recommendations in the workplace Managing your personal development in the workplace Managing the installation, maintenance, monitoring and removal of temporary works in the workplace

A competence-based qualification, the NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Construction Site Management qualification is suitable for those who have responsibility for organising and managing work on construction sites, including: The planning and controlling of work methods Allocation of equipment, personnel, and materials Ensuring work is completed to the required standard Ensuring communication is clear and effective This qualification is at Level 6, although some units may be at different levels. Level 6 qualifications are primarily aimed at those who are fully trained and experienced in a wide range of roles. It requires the individual to be actively involved in decision making, to have a good understanding of problems that can occur on construction sites and how to deal with them.
