It is one thing ensuring that a person knows what they are supposed to be doing, but how do you ensure that they continue to perform? This 1 Day course looks at the importance of Performance Management systems within the organisation and how these can be used most effectively to maintain a productive workforce. We also take a look at the process should an employee fail to meet expectations; informal and formal disciplinary procedures and relevant Employment Law legislation.

At the end of the course delegates will be able to: • Identify the benefits of an effective Performance Management system • Explain the principles of the One Minute Manager, including One Minute Praise and One Minute Reprimand • Summarise the difference between conduct and capability • Discuss what are informal and formal disciplinary procedures and when they should be used • State the 5 fair reasons for dismissal • Review relevant Employment Law Supervisors/Line Managers with direct reports who require varying degrees of performance management or for those that may require guidance on taking more formal steps to increase the effectiveness of their workforce.
