This course focuses primarily on Basic Life Support, recapping CPR and looking at the theory and usage of Defibrillators it will serve as a basic module and can count to your annual CPD in CPR and defibrillator use.

This online course has been designed specifically to improve and update your knowledge about Defibrillators. To complete your Defibrillator course you will move through a selection of topics, helping to build your knowledge and skills to exactly what to do in a medical emergency. Your sessions include: What are my responsibilities? What is first aid? DRABC - the primary survey What is CPR and when do we do it? What to do when someone is not breathing normally When to stop CPR COVID-19 updates to CPR The recovery position Cardiac arrest and heart attacks Women and CPR Sudden cardiac death in the young Introduction to defibrillators How to use a defibrillator Safety considerations There will be a Final Knowledge Check at the end, which has an 80% pass mark. Don't worry, you can revisit any chapters before completing this test. Upon successful completion, you will be emailed your certificate.

The course is designed for anyone who already has previously attended basic life support (CPR) training and wants to learn how to operate a defibrillator as well as recapping how to perform effective CPR. Recommended age 14+.
