The Operations Manager Apprenticeship will give you the knowledge and skills you need to succeed as a leader and take the next step in your managerial career. During the programme, you will enhance your managerial skills to embrace the challenges presented by the dynamic business environment including efficiencies, growth, and change. The Operations Manager Apprenticeship is a Level 5 programme and is designed for those currently working in middle management who are looking to move into a more senior role. Upon successful completion, apprentices can register as full members of the Chartered Management Institute and/or The Institute of Leadership and Management.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, Operations Manager Apprentices will gain the following knowledge and skills and will be able to exhibit the following behaviours: Knowledge: Operational Performance – Understanding approaches and models of operation management, including business planning techniques, project management techniques and business finance. Interpersonal Excellence – How to successfully lead and manage high performing as well as building effective supplier and stakeholder relationships. Personal Effectiveness – Understanding problem solving and decision-making techniques as well as prioritisation of activities. Skills: Operational Performance – Input into strategic planning as well as effectively organise and manage project resources. Interpersonal Excellence – Communicate organisational vision and goals as well as successful management of talent and performance. Personal Effectiveness – Reflect on own performance and working style as well as create a personal development plan. Behaviours: Take Responsibility – Demonstrate resilience and accountability as well as determination when managing difficult situations. Inclusive – Being open, approachable, and able to build trust with others. Agile – Develop as a flexible, creative, and innovative manager, that is open to new ways of working.

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively, the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.
