Skill Overview

At 360 Apprenticeships, we only work with level 1 and 2 Ofsted graded training providers, meaning that your learners are always in safe hands. Each Level 3 AAT (Accounting) Apprenticeship is designed to give your apprentice the skills and techniques for a career in Accounting and finance. Through the apprenticeship, they will learn everything from account management to bookkeeping. As we work with more than one training provider, it gives you the opportunity to choose the provider that best suites you and your business. Our training providers reach across the whole of England; so no matter where you are, we will be able to find the right training provider for you.

Learning Objectives

The Trainee Accountant is expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity - showing a positive attitude. Over the course of the apprenticeship, students build an electronic portfolio of evidence that showcases their knowledge, skills and behaviours. The apprenticeship involves demonstrating basic elements of double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards required to process financial documents and report financial information to users of accounts, accounting transactions, perform a reconciliation, correct errors and produce a range of reports using a computerised accounting system, transactional processes and support provided by accountancy firms or the accounting function within an organisation and much more.   All this will lead to a final presentation and interview, where the apprentice will showcase the skills and evidence of their progress.

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively, the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.

Candidate requirements are determined by the employer. Apprentices without level 2 Functional Skills (English and maths or GCSEs) will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end-point assessment.  Funding - any candidates who start the apprenticeship age 16-18 are full funded during the course. Employers will also receive 1000 to help with any training services. For any candidates 19+, there is a 5% contribution towards the training (paid to the training provider).
