Henshaws Society for Blind People is a Manchester-based charity dedicated to empowering individuals living with sight loss. Our mission is to help people gain independence, build confidence, and thrive through tailored skills training, expert advice, and personalised guidance. 

We are committed to creating a more accessible and inclusive world for people with visual impairments. This training course is designed to educate businesses and individuals on practical ways to provide meaningful support and promote inclusivity. 

During the session, participants will engage in hands-on activities to better understand the challenges faced by individuals with visual impairments. The course includes: 

Practical demonstrations using simulation glasses. 

Guidance on effective communication strategies. 

Insights into the use of guide canes. 

Tips for creating accessible written materials, including font recommendations. 

Interactive discussions to build awareness and empathy. 

By the end of the training, attendees will gain valuable skills and knowledge to make a positive difference in the lives of people with sight loss. 

We can created bespoke training sessions for you from as little as £50 per person based on a minimum of 10 people.  

Sessions will be ran based on demand.
