Skill Overview

This course will provide you and/or your team with an understanding of dementia, importance of raising awareness about it, identification, assessment, diagnosis, risk reduction and prevention, including person-centred care. You will also learn about the law, ethics, communication, interaction, behaviour, health, and well-being including pharmacological interventions in dementia care.

Importance of safeguarding and promoting the independence of people with dementia along with equality, diversity, inclusion, the role of family and careers as partners in dementia care will all be taught via this course.

The cost of this course is for up to 16 attendees.

Learning Objectives

Aim: To provide the best outcomes for people living with dementia.

By successfully completing this course you will be able to:

- Describe the process of dementia identification, assessment, and diagnosis
