Welcome to the Halo Staffing eLearning course for Standard 3 – Duty of Care of the Care Certificate. In this course, we will take you through what you’ll need to know in order to understand what your duty of care will be. Starting off, we’ll cover what a duty of care is and the responsibilities that you may have as a result of your duty of care. From there, the dilemmas that can occur between a duty of care and the rights of an individual, what you should and should not do concerning handling these dilemmas, and where to get support with dealing with them, will all be covered. The third section will cover complaints and comments, how to deal with them and react to them in line with legislation, who could help with advice and support in dealing with complaints and comments, and why and how to learn from them. The next section will deal with incidents, errors and near misses, how to recognise them, what you should and should not do with regards to them, and the legislation and agreed ways of working around them. Finally, we’ll cover how to deal with confrontations and difficult situations, the factors that may contribute to them, how to use communication to reduce the chances of them, how to assess and reduce risks with regards to them, how and when to get support and advice around them, and the agreed ways of working for reporting them. www.halostaffing.co.uk
