The Machining Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship equips learners with the skills and knowledge to operate a range of machining techniques, including milling, turning, and grinding, to produce precision-engineered components. Apprentices will develop expertise in reading technical drawings, setting up and programming CNC machines, and ensuring quality control through measurement and inspection techniques. The programme also covers health and safety, material selection, and efficiency improvements in manufacturing processes. Designed for industries such as aerospace, automotive, and engineering, this apprenticeship prepares individuals for a career in advanced machining and precision engineering.

For organisations with an annual wage bill under £3million, apprentices aged 16-21 the programme costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. If your current wage bill is over £3million you will pay into an apprenticeship account, which the cost of the apprenticeship programme is taken from.
