Connectivity and the prevention of downtime are crucial elements in ensuring your business functions efficiently. The Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship will enable you to recruit for technical support roles or upskill existing employees to develop knowledge of IT systems across your organisation.  Information Communications Technicians play a vital role in any business with support for your internal and external customers. This involves responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of IT and telecoms infrastructure.  The BPP Level 3 Information Communications Technician is aligned with recognised professional qualifications, providing organisations with a more competent and qualified workforce, while increasing employee motivation, enhancing job prospects and well being.

Learning Objectives

Your employees will develop knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, security, software, operating systems and service value within the context of business processes and legislation. In addition, they will understand how the delivery of technical support fits with the end-to-end operating model for a business. Training takes place alongside an employee's full-time job. This provides the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills to their role and deliver an instant impact while adding value to your organisation. They will also develop the key attributes required to become a valuable IT professional.

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively, the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.

Set by individual employers, but must include one of the following:  * A minimum of five GCSEs grade A - C (9 - 4 on the new grading system), OR  * A Level 2 apprenticeship  Applicants must be employed in a relevant role to apply. This must include experience with the building or configuring of live networks as well as experience with implementing encryption into networks and processes.
