Learning Objectives

•    Define stock control and its importance in business. 

•    Identify key terms: stock levels, reorder points, safety stock, FIFO/LIFO. 

•    Understand benefits (cost reduction, efficiency). 

Learning Outcomes: Learners can explain stock control and its purpose. 


•     Explore techniques: Just-in-Time (JIT), ABC analysis, cycle counting. 

•    Apply techniques to a retail scenario. 

Learning Outcomes: Learners can describe and apply at least two stock control techniques. 


•    Use Excel for basic stock tracking (e.g., reorder points, stock levels). 

•    Explore inventory software (e.g., Zoho Inventory). 

Learning Outcomes: Learners can create a simple stock tracking spreadsheet. 


•    Understand ethical stock management (e.g., avoiding waste, fair supplier relations). 

•    Explore sustainability in inventory (e.g., reducing overstock). 

Learning Outcomes:  Learners can identify one ethical or sustainable stock control practice. 


•    Review key concepts. 

•    Address learner questions.

•	You must not already have achieved a level 2 qualification, in this subject, in the last 3 years.
