Skill Overview

You will build on the theory learnt at level 2 with a variety of complex accounting processes. There may be the opportunity to lead onto professional accountancy qualifications.

Learning Objectives

You will cover the following Key Units/ Learning Aims:

Financial Accounting; Preparing Financial Statements
Management Accounting Techniques
Tax Processes for Business
Business Awareness
Advanced Synoptic Assessment which forms part of your End Point Assessment

You will attend college classes one full day per week and will also receive one-to-one support in the in the workplace with a dedicated Learning and Skills Coach.

You will complete an End Point Assessment with the awarding body AAT and will complete the two following areas:

Portfolio based professional discussion
Advanced Synoptic Assessment

The AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting will be assessed by a computer-based assessment at the end of each unit.

This apprenticeship is available to employees looking to upskill in their organisation. We cannot support applications from unemployed individuals.

Sole traders or self-employed individuals cannot enrol themselves but may enrol a new employee.

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively, for company’s with a wage bill of £3m or above, the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.

Level 2 AAT or equivalent

Relevant qualifications and/or an initial assessment testing on maths and English will take place prior to commencement

Specific entry requirements may be applicable based on employer requirements.

Apprentices will be required to apply for AAT annual membership (16-18s will be reimbursed)

Depending on the apprenticeship this may include information on DBS, equipment, uniform etc
