Skill Overview

This qualification is intended to provide learners with a broad introduction to the health and care sector, equipping learners with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills. They are designed to support progression to further learning and ultimately to work in health and care or other related sectors.

Training takes place at Tameside College, Beaufort Rd, Gtr, Ashton-under-Lyne OL6 6NX

Learning Objectives

This is a part time course. (12 weeks - 4 hours per week, Wed 10:00am - 2:30pm)

Throughout the course you will study 3 units in total. These include:

· Effective Communication in Health and Social Care and Child Care

· Health & Safety in Health & Social care

· Working in Health & Social Care and children’s & young people’s settings

If you meet the unemployed criteria, or are employed where the earnings threshold applies, and you need to study at Entry or Level 1 to progress to Level 2, tuition fees will be waived.
