This 1 Day Course explores the essential communication skills and techniques, including assertiveness training, required by all managers. Through examining the components of communication, delegates learn how to conduct team briefs, counsel others, and provide feedback and how to successfully manage the negotiation process. The course is practically based focusing upon the identification, application and development of such techniques. Being able to get your message across effectively is a hallmark of good management. Whether it is within the sphere of team briefing, counselling, negotiating or providing feedback, all require developed skills essential to maximise your organisation's efficiency.

At the end of the course delegates will be able to: • Explain the key concepts involved in communication • Know when to use the correct form of communication and how to use this most effectively • Use written communication effectively • Use verbal communication effectively • Explain the impact of body language • Listen more effectively • Understand Transactional Analysis and how it is used in managing people • Explain their influencing and persuading style • Know if their communication style is more aggressive than it should be • Explain what they need to do to improve their communication • Complete their own action plan for use in the field All Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders who wish to improve and develop their communication skills with a view to increasing their own and their teams performance.
