This blended course covers everything you need to know on providing immediate but temporary care to sick or injured children; providing skills, knowledge and peace of mind to anyone working with children. This is a popular choice and beneficial for both beginners and to those who have attended numerous paediatric first aid courses in the past and wish to refresh their knowledge and skills.  Covering the full training syllabus required to complete a Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid, the course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Local Authority Approved and meets the requirements of Ofsted.

Learning Objectives

Delivered both in a classroom setting and with online e-learning modules to be completed in your own time. You will be trained by one of our Qualified First Aid trainers who will be guiding you through all the practical life-saving techniques. Designed to be interactive, engaging, fun and memorable.  Classroom-based learning includes: Managing an Incident The Primary Survey Unconscious and Breathing Unconscious and Not Breathing CPR - Resuscitation Techniques Casualty Examination Choking Unconsciousness Anaphylaxis Shock Control of Bleeding Asthma Seizures Head Injuries  Online e-learning modules include: The Role of a Paediatric First Aider Burns and Scalds Minor Injuries Fractures Bites and Stings Eye and Ear Injuries Febrile Convulsions Childhood Illnesses Including Meningitis Poisoning First Aid Kits Regulations Course duration The classroom-based learning runs over 6 hours of practical training. Ideally, the course should be run in one day, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire, providing it is completed within 2 weeks of starting the course. The online e-learning module should be completed with 2 weeks of completing the classroom-based learning.  Assessment & Certification To ensure all learners are reached, we use a variety of training methods; scenario-based training techniques are used to maximise recall as well as the use of personal workbooks which will be provided on the day.  Each learner will also receive a FREE comprehensive Paediatric First Aid Manual.  Paediatric First Aid certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment. The trainer will assess learners' competence on a practical and informal basis with a multiple-choice online test.  This qualification will ensure you have the correct training to meet Ofsted requirements for Early Years settings such as schools, nurseries and after school clubs.
