Skill Overview

Enable learners to understand the principles of numeracy relevant to their sector by explaining key concepts, identifying workplace applications, and demonstrating basic calculations (Learning Outcome 1). 

 

Equip learners to develop skills to apply numeracy in workplace tasks by performing sector-specific calculations, ensuring accuracy, and evaluating results (Learning Outcome 2). 

 

Provide practical, hands-on activities to meet pass/fail assessment criteria, ensuring alignment with UK workplace standards and sector requirements. 

Foster collaboration through group discussions to share insights and solutions for applying numeracy in professional contexts. 

This training can be tailored to meet the employers needs, this can also be delivered for Intermediate and advanced levels

Learning Objectives

- Explain the importance of numeracy in a specific sector (1.1). 

- Identify key numeracy concepts and tools (1.2). 

- Demonstrate a basic sector-specific calculation (1.3). 

- Perform numeracy calculations for a workplace task (2.1). 

- Understand how to apply numeracy effectively. 

- Ensure accuracy and clarity in numeracy outputs (2.2). 

- Evaluate the effectiveness of numeracy applications (2.3). 

- Apply skills to sector scenarios. 

- Consolidate understanding of sector numeracy (1.1–2.3). 

- Apply skills to a real-world workplace scenario. 

- Develop a personal action plan for ongoing numeracy skills.

This course takes roughly 4 - 5 hours , and can be completed in the employers workplace, remotely or in a different location. This course can be tailored to the needs of every employers needs in any sector.

To be eligible for this training, you must be:

•	19 years old or over 
•	Employed, volunteering or an unpaid worker.
•	Have the right to live and work in the UK. 
•	You must not already have achieved a level 2 qualification, in this subject, in the last 3 years.

This support is available for those living in Greater Manchester or one of the neighbouring areas. These include parts of Lancashire, Derbyshire, Merseyside, West Yorkshire, and Cheshire – your eligibility will be checked by one of our Skills Coaches.
