The PRINCE2® Foundation provides the theoretical knowledge of how to plan, manage, and deliver projects from start to finish. The Foundation is ideal for current or aspiring project managers, as well as those who are involved in projects more widely.

The Foundation certification provides an introduction to PRINCE2 principles and terminology. You will gain the knowledge and skills to work successfully within a project team that operates within an environment supporting PRINCE2.

PRINCE2 Foundation certifications must be renewed after three years through either retaking the exam or undertaking further PeopleCert qualifications.

PRINCE2 principles: Learn about the foundational principles of the PRINCE2 method. Explore the aspects that can be tailored to suit specific project needs, ascertain the responsible individuals involved, and understand how to document decisions appropriately.
PRINCE2 themes and their application: understand the key PRINCE2 themes and their relevance throughout a project’s lifecycle. This involves knowing the purpose of themes such as the business case and organisation, outlining roles and responsibilities, and gaining insight into essential concepts like quality, risk management, and change control.
PRINCE2 processes: Explore the various processes integral to the PRINCE2 methodology and how they are executed throughout the project. Gain a clear understanding of the purpose, objectives, and context of each PRINCE2 process, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of project management practices.
The certification is assessed by a 60-minute multiple choice examination, which will test your ability to recall and understand the PRINCE2 project management method. The assessment requires a 55% pass mark.
