Excel Essentials: Building Confidence with Spreadsheets is a practical beginner-friendly course designed to introduce learners to the core features of Microsoft Excel. Delivered over four interactive one-hour sessions, this programme is ideal for those with little or no prior experience who want to build confidence in using spreadsheets for personal, study, or work purposes. The course begins with an introduction to the Excel interface, teaching learners how to navigate the workspace, enter data, and apply basic formatting to create clear and professional-looking spreadsheets. Building on this foundation, participants will then explore simple formulas and functions such as SUM and AVERAGE, gaining valuable skills to calculate and analyse data effectively. As learners progress, they will develop techniques to organise and present information, including sorting, filtering, and creating simple charts to visualise data. The final session focuses on applying these skills to real-life scenarios, with learners creating their own mini project to demonstrate practical understanding and independence. By the end of the course, participants will have developed key digital skills, improved numeracy and accuracy, and gained confidence in using Excel as a versatile tool for everyday tasks, study, and employability. Employer Benefits: - Minimises disruption through flexible delivery – sessions can be delivered on-site, in-house at our training centre, or online, with timing adapted to shift patterns and operational needs. - Increases data accuracy – staff learn to apply data validation and structured workflows to reduce costly errors and inconsistencies in reporting. - Enhances decision-making – employees develop skills to analyse, interpret, and present workplace data clearly, improving reporting and compliance monitoring. - Boosts efficiency – improved Excel skills help staff complete data tasks more quickly, freeing up time for higher-value responsibilities. This is a non-regulated course. Session Duration: 4 hours
