This apprenticeship develops the practical skills required for first fix, second fix and structural carpentry. Apprentices learn to install structural timber, floors, partitions, doors, frames and finishing components using hand and power tools.. We deliver apprenticeships through a blended hybrid model that combines structured training, flexible block weeks and guided site-based development-designed to build capability faster and support real business needs. This approach enables apprentices to apply new skills in real environments while progressing at an accelerated pace.

Learning Objectives

Learners will be able to:

o Carry out first fix and second fix carpentry
o Install doors, frames, floors, roofs and partitions
o Use and maintain portable power tools
o Interpret construction drawings and specifications
o Apply fire-stopping and safety principles
o Work safely and efficiently on site

Fast-track hybrid delivery including day release, block weeks and integrated site-bas training.

Funding Eligibility

This Apprenticeship is available to employers looking to upskill their organisation. We cannot support applications from unemployed individuals. Sole traders or self-employed individuals cannot enrol themselves but may enrol a new employee.

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices over 21 there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.
