Skill Overview

Our Microsoft Data Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship (With Microsoft Excel Certification) works with all levels of staff and job roles. It gives learners the essential data skills to operate in the modern workplace. It will enhance business, inform better decision making and set a better platform to operate across all roles; from data, to customer service & sales, to HR & finance and administration.  Learners will look into how to correctly read and format data, how to use data statistics for decision making and how to improve data quality within the business.   Learners will also achieve Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate certification.

Learning Objectives

Module 1: Knowledge of the importance of data, what a data citizen is and how data is driving digital transformation.  Module 2: A focus on the way that we collate, format and blend data from multiple sources and identify trends to support evidence based decision making.  Module 3: A focus on the practical aspects of how to validate data, common issues found in data and how to ensure it's validity.  Module 4: A focus on the future of data, how emerging technologies will support business growth, and data standards and legislation.  Module 5: A focus on how to have useful data conversations, communicating insights based on audience, and how to identify the best medium to tell your data story.  Module 6: A focus on emerging technologies and your personal development as a data specialist.

Funding Eligibility

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively, the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.
