Preventing Fraud is now a legal requirement for many businesses. Fraud though, poses a significant and growing threat to businesses of all sizes, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that may lack extensive resources to combat sophisticated scams. This CPD-certified course provides a comprehensive introduction to the nature of business fraud, the latest UK legislation including the Fraud Act 2006 and the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA), and practical strategies to prevent and detect fraud within your organisation. Through real-world examples, risk assessment tools, and policy guidance, you will learn how to build a strong anti-fraud culture and implement effective controls tailored to your business needs. Gain insight into how fraudsters operate and the psychological tactics they use to deceive organisations. Familiarise yourself with key UK legislation related to preventing fraud and the new offence of failure to prevent fraud Learn how to conduct practical fraud risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities specific to your business. Develop and implement fraud prevention strategies, including internal controls, staff awareness, and policy development. Know the appropriate steps to take if fraud is suspected or detected, including investigation and reporting procedures.
