Welcome to the Halo Staffing Care Workforce Pathway eLearning course about duty of care and duty of candour. We will begin this course by establishing what do the terms duty of care and duty of candour mean. We will then inform you about the support available for addressing dilemmas that may arise about duty of care. The next section will list all the relevant legislations in the UK. We will then inform you how to deal with comments and complaints. This will be followed by information about dealing with incidents, errors and near misses. Finally, we will inform you how to deal with confrontation and difficult situations. Is this for me? Keeping in line with the Care Workforce Pathway guidelines, The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, The Provisions and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER), The Management of Health and Safety Regulations 1999, The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 (COSHH), The Mental Capacity Act 2005, The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations – CQC Regulation 20, Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) 2013 and The Care Act 2014.
