Ever attended a first aid course and left unprepared or unconfident? ZSG pride ourselves on focusing on practical aspects of the course and use interactive task trainers to ensure capability and competnece of each learner at performing the skills being taught.

This qualification is for those undertaking the role of a first aider in the workplace or an individual wanting to expand their first aid skills. The QNUK Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) supports employers to meet their requirements under the Health and Safety (First Aid) regulations 1981.

A 3 day course broken down into 1 day distance learning, using our online learning platform and 2 day in person.

This allows for most of the theory to be covered at your own pace, allowing more practical time during the face to face training days. Our ethos at ZSG is to maximise the time spent on practical aspects of first aid.

This can be delivered at employers premesis, if suitable, or at our training venue in Bolton.

Training is delivered by operational emergency service personal, who have done exactly what they are teaching in real incidents. We can pass on this experience so you are more confident in performing these skills should they be needed.

Learning Objectives

Identify the role and responsibilities of a first aider
Identify the need for consent
Assess an emergency situation safely and scene survey
Primary survey of a casualty - CABC
Manage an unresponsive casualty
Identify when to administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Demonstrate adult CPR using a manikin
Place patient into the recovery position
Manage emergency conditions:
Seizures
Choking
Minor external bleeding and identify if life threatening
Recognise and treat shock
Identify and manage minor injuries
Identify and manage minor burns and scald
Identify and manage poisoning
Identify and manage anaphylaxis
Identify and manage a range of medical conditions
Conduct a secondary survey
