Skill Overview

The Assistant Accountant Level 3 Apprenticeship is  suitable for individuals already working in finance or accounting roles who wish to enhance their skills in areas such as preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and analysing financial data.

Learning Objectives

The apprenticeship covers a range of knowledge, skills, and behaviours that can be applied in the workplace and is supported by elements of a full AAT qualification, including:

Business Awareness
Financial Accounting
Preparing Financial Statements
Management Accounting Techniques
Tax Processes for Business

Apprentices will complete a knowledge component exam, answering 40 questions, and participate in an independent professional discussion, underpinned by a portfolio of evidence that reflects the knowledge, skills, and behaviours relevant to their job role.

Funding Eligibility

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively, the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.
