Welcome to the Halo Staffing eLearning course for Standard 1 – Understanding Your Role, of the Care Certificate. In this course, we will be taking you through the basics of what you’ll need to know in order to understand your role in the workforce. We will start off with covering what your main duties and responsibilities may be, the Code of Conduct for healthcare workers, how to find out what the agreed ways of working are in your workplace, and how your history may change the way you work. From there, we’ll move into working with your employer, covering your employment rights and responsibilities, the aims, objectives and values of the service, working in the ways agreed with your employer, having up-to-date knowledge on those ways, how to escalate concerns, and honesty in error reporting. The third section will cover your responsibilities to individuals you support, the difference between a working relationship and a personal relationship, and the different types of working relationships. Finally, we’ll move on to why it is important to work with others, both with other workers and with those close to an individual you are caring for, what you can do to improve working with others, and how to resolve conflicts. www.halostaffing.co.uk
