The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence of individuals who specialise in steel erecting in the construction and engineering industries. Completion of this NVQ will allow you to apply for a Blue CSCS Trade card. Candidates must complete all the Mandatory units; candidates may complete the Additional unit, but this will not count towards the qualification.

There are no formal qualifications required to enrol on the NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Steel Erecting. However, to qualify to take the NVQ, entrants must already be working in a role where they specialise in steel erecting. This is because this is a work-based qualification that requires you to prove your competence and experience working in steel erecting.
