Welcome to the Halo Staffing eLearning course on Mental Health First Aid. In this course, we will cover everything you’ll need to know to be able to develop your workplace to support the mental health of your team members. The first section will look at the causes of workplace mental health issues. From there, we’ll move onto looking at strategies that you can use to tackle the causes of mental health issues. After that, the benefits of promoting a sense of openness and clear communication around mental health will be looked at. The fourth section will cover the six core standards of mental health first aid. From there, we’ll look at workplace mental health plans, what they are, and how you can create one. The section afterwards will cover strategies that you can implement that will allow you to promote the wellbeing of your staff or team members. Following on from that, the benefits of encouraging conversations about mental health, and the advantages that clear communication around mental health has, will be covered. After that, we’ll look at how to provide your employees or team members with basic mental health support. The ninth section will be on identifying factors of the work environment of your team members that you can change or alter to help promote their mental health. Afterwards, the next section will cover implementing proactive opportunities for your team members to discuss their health and wellbeing, and the impact their work environment has on their health and wellbeing, with yourself, their team leader, or trusted colleagues. From there, we’ll look at techniques for training individuals to be able to treat their colleagues in a way that does not negatively impact their mental health. The next section is on the benefits of regularly monitoring the mental health of your team members. The penultimate section concerns methods of monitoring the mental health of your team members. Finally, we’ll touch on what an annual wellbeing report is, and how you can create one. www.halostaffing.co.uk
