The Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice (England) equips aspiring youth workers with the essential skills to create positive and impactful experiences for young people. This qualification combines practical experience with theoretical knowledge to develop the competencies needed to lead youth work activities and support young people's personal and social development.

Designed in collaboration with industry experts, including the National Youth Agency, the programme aligns with the National Occupational Standards for youth work and is JNC recognised. Learners will develop the ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate youth work programs, while building strong relationships with young people and their communities.

The Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice (England) is for employees who deliver operational youth work and who undertake duties on their own initiative or who carry supervisory responsibility for small projects, such as one night a week clubs. Ideal for individuals starting their career in youth work, or for those wishing to undertake CPD and facilitate transition to professional qualifications, the diploma offers a solid foundation for future advancement in the sector.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice, learners will be able to:

Learners will undertake 80 hours of work experience in a youth work environment paid or unpaid throughout their learning journey. Learners must have access to a real work environment for most of the units.
