Skill Overview

The 2 to 3 week programme is tutor led classroom sessions giving learners the skills, knowledge and behaviours to become a competent individual.  Learners will learn skills and techniques that may be required whilst carrying out their duties.

The programme includes: Hazard awareness, To be able to communicate effectively, Problem solving, To be able to identify common tools and Materials used in construction and how to use them safely & understanding the importance of teamwork.

Learning Objectives

This Level 1 Construction course is designed to equip learners with the essential skills and knowledge required to gain their CSCS card and work safely and effectively on construction sites. The course focuses on developing key skills needed for construction roles, including understanding construction site safety, effective communication, and basic problem-solving. 

Learners will gain a solid foundation in construction site operations, the importance of adhering to health and safety regulations, and how to maintain professional conduct in a dynamic and high-pressure environment. Through practical activities and scenario-based learning, learners will develop the ability to handle common challenges and work effectively within a team. 

The course prepares learners to confidently apply for their CSCS card, ensuring they meet industry standards and are ready to take on construction roles with competence and professionalism.

Funding is eligible to individuals aged 19+ and meet the residence eligibility guidelines.  If working and earning over £25,000 the programme is part funded.  If earning less than £25,000 the programme is fully funded
