Skill Overview

This apprenticeship has been designed to provide development opportunities for individuals who are at the start of their professional management career, as well as those who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management.  A Team Leader/Supervisor is a first-line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. This role can be in all sizes of organisation in the private, public, or voluntary sector and will involve managing teams and/or projects to meet organisational goals.  Key responsibilities are likely to include supporting, managing, and developing team members, managing projects, planning, and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships internally and externally.

On this apprenticeship programme you will develop the following knowledge, skills and behaviours:  Interpersonal Excellence - managing people and developing relationships  Leading People  Managing People  Building Relationships  Communication  Organisational Performance - delivering results  Operational Management  Project Management Finance  Personal Effectiveness - managing self  Self-Awareness  Management of Self  Decision Making   On successful completion, you will achieve a Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship.  There is also the opportunity to register for associate membership with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, to support professional recognition, career development, and progression.

Funding Eligibility

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices aged over 21, there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively, the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.

The entry requirement for this apprenticeship will be decided by each employer however, it is recommended that you have a GCSE grade 4/C or above in Maths and English or level 2 equivalent.  If you do not hold the recommended English and Maths qualifications then, you will need to achieve these prior to taking the end-point assessment.
