This apprenticeship builds the technical skills needed to prepare backgrounds, install wall and floor tiles, apply waterproofing and tanking systems, and achieve layouts to British Standards.. We deliver apprenticeships through a blended hybrid model that combines structured training, flexible block weeks and guided site-based development-designed to build capability faster and support real business needs. This approach enables apprentices to apply new skills in real environments while progressing at an accelerated pace.

Delivery Model & Duration:

Fast-track hybrid delivery including day release, block weeks & integrated site-based training.

Learning Objectives

Learners will be able to:

o Prepare backgrounds for tiling
o Install wall and floor tiles to BS 5385
o Apply tanking and waterproofing systems
o Cut, shape and detail tile layouts accurately
o Form movement joints
o Work safely and efficiently in different environments

Funding Eligibility

This Apprenticeship is available to employers looking to upskill their organisation. We cannot support applications from unemployed individuals. Sole traders or self-employed individuals cannot enrol themselves but may enrol a new employee.

For apprentices aged 16-21 the training costs are fully funded by the government. For apprentices over 21 there is a 5% co-investment which would be paid by the employer. Alternatively the training costs can be covered by utilising the Apprenticeship Levy Fund.
